Yossi & Jagger - Berlin Int'l Film Festival The movie Yossi & Jagger has been accepted to the Panorama section at Berlin International Film Festival 2003.
This is an enormous achievement for the 65 minutes drama. This is an even bigger honor for director, Eytan Fox, considering that this is his second time that a film of his is being shown at the festival. His first appearance at BIFF was with his feature film debut, "Song on the Siren".
Yossi & Jagger first premiered in Jerusalem International Film Festival in last July, where he won the Honorable Mention, is now showing at the Tel-Aviv Cinematheque on daily basis for two months, and all the tickets are sold out.
The film is now showing on commercial screenings all over the country, for a month, and thousands of viewers have already seen and loved it. The unexpected and unprecedented success came as quite a surprise to the film's creators and investors, since this is the first drama that has been distributed commercially on a national basis.
The film producers received requests from national sales agents, and decided on Fortissimo to handle their distribution around the world, and on Strand Films as their American distributor.
Yossi & Jagger deals with the relationships between Yossi & Jagger the officers, which are kept very discreetly. But the secret affects the other soldiers in the outpost in roundabout ways, and disrupts their lives.
Yossi & Jagger will be broadcasted on TV as a part of Rishon Badrama - ICP's Original Israeli Creation strip - at the end of this month.
